Blessing from the past

We had not seen Diantha in more than 30 yrs, but it was great to share Guatemala with them. Tropical storms caused them to spend more days just visiting, but I guess the Lord knew we all needed the rest.

They enjoyed and participated in our service. Doug preached and Larry translated and our people enjoyed the message on Love.

Please feel free to visit, you will all love our people.
We pray the weather will be better than this past week.

Spiritual Growth

Busy Sunday at the Nido. New Birth Baptist Church had baptisms, and then to the church to worship and then The Lords Supper was observed.

What a blessing to see people testifying that they want to follow Christ.

Maria told me that she did not attend another church until she started coming to services her at Nido. Luky has been a faithful youth since the beginning. The two boys Edgar and Abraham are brothers to Nehemias who has dedicated his life to full time service and is now in Seminary.

Their parents are proud of their boys. Their Dad, Alejandro is not a believer, but he has attended now a couple of Sundays. Pray for him.

Our kitchen Lady “Luky” at the home told me today that soon she is going to make her decision. We have prayed for her for several years. A team member gave her a Bible with her name in it and that made it personal.

God is working this mountain.

Adding to the church

As teams come and go through the summer we are privileged to share the gospel with them as well as our local people. The teams share testimonies of their salvation and all the blessing the Christian life brings.

Nehemias and Pastor Nery visit and prepare the message of Christ, for Sunday and during the week as the children come each day for the lunch meal provided for by “Manna”.

The children hear the gospel each day learning songs and verses.
They are faithful to come to church and soon we will see the fruits of this ministry.

Devastation Affected the poor

Family of Consuelo:
This lady has been bringing her children to the feeding program daily.
She walks 1/2 mile for lunch. She lives in a humble little house with very few furnishings. Her husband works in the city and not home very much.

The trail to her house fell away with this recent hurricane. She did not ask for help but on visitation our pastor Nery and Nehemias viewed the damage and wondered if there is help for her. The little boy is probably 18 months old and they have place the metal roofing so the kids don’t fall down the hill.

She told the pastor that the wall to the house is damp and it is hard to know what to do.

Family of Agripina: The house was not affected, but where her house is located the wall above her house, could fall and smash it. Her house is built out of metal roofing.

The children from these families come to the feeding program each day. The kids are learning songs and Bible verses and we are so glad we could help in this small way.

President of Guatemala Declared !

The president said no school for last week. And then this week came out with a new declaration, that no schools can have field trips until next year.
This is affecting all the businesses, hotels and schools in a negative way.
We must pray for this country, and for the ones who have suffered, but
live must go on.

The camp is starting to see some affects of this declaration and canceling their retreats.

People still need encouragement in this sad time. Retreats and uplifting messages and fellowship is available here at the Eagle’s Nest.

The Feeding Program “Manna” is feeding 40 children for lunch each day. And we are adding to the church, most of these children are attending regularly. Hearing the gospel. We pray that soon we will see souls saved because of this effort. Rain or shine the kids come.

San Jose Caben, San Marcos

We were invited to San Jose Caben ( our first church) to a Mother’s Day Celebration. The activities started at 10 am We left home in Sololá at 7:15 arriving just in time. All the ages had a part to play in the program and the pastors message was uplifting and we were just the guests. They all made us proud as they gave tribute to all the mothers. They had songs, and poems. Dramas and special recognition. And a gift for all the mothers including me. Wow, you know it is great to teach and pray and guide a new church, but it was an added blessing to see the church plan and carry out a big program with all the small details and we did not do anything, but enjoy. And to top it off everyone was served a delicious meal.

Larry put together a slideshow of “Oldies” to show on big screen. Some of the members have passed on and others were just memories. It was fun to see the reactions and enjoy the memories with them.

We can only thank the Lord for bringing us to Guatemala, to help make a difference in the lives of the faithful few.

Thank you for sending us and supporting us as we continue to work to edify the saints.

Pastor Nery serving

We have two hired cooks from our congregation. One widow lady brings her 4 young children. Her husband was killed last year and she has not income. She helps with serving and clean up and eats along with the children.
We are finding that food they are accustomed is the best for our menu. Tamales, Mangos and eggs salad sandwiches were a hit. One little boy, was excited to see he “Got Milk”!

We have added to our Sunday School attendance as a result of the feeding program. Soon we will see some souls won for the Lord as a result of this outreach.

It is an added blessing and a little more work, but God will send us laborer soon to help. By the way the food left over is taking to the orphanage here at Eagle’s Nest.

This note came to or attention: How can we say no, when God provides?

Teams Bringing Blessings

Another team came to help in our ministry with the church here at Nido Del Aquila.

They shared testimonies and presented Bell choir songs and then showed our people how they could participate. It was special for our people.

They will be Making a Difference in the community this week. They will be providing stoves for a couple of families and out house for the community to use. They will be also holding classes with the local ladies, teaching hygiene and nutrition.

We had more visitors today and anxious for the feeding program starting tomorrow. 40 children signed up, we are praying for this outreach to bring in soul for the Lord.
